Educational Qualification

Should have passed 10+2  Intermediate with Maths, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.  

OR

Passed 3 years of Diploma Courses in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course.

OR

Passed Two years of Vocational Courses with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Passed  10+2 Intermediate with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. 

OR 

Passed 2 years of Vocational Course with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course.

Height

(i) For Male candidates: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm.

(ii) For Female candidates: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cm. 

(iii) For candidates belonging to North-East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand, a lower minimum height of 147 cm will be accepted. In the case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height will be 

150 cm.

Note: Candidates availing height relaxation for being domicile of North East/Hilly Regions of Uttarakhand/Lakshadweep are to submit a Domicile certificate with endorsement of domicile status at the time of Phase-II testing. Further, candidates from hilly regions of Uttarakhand must have a specific endorsement of the hilly regions in their domicile certificate.

Weight

Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF

Chest

Minimum chest circumference should be 77 cm and the chest expansion should be at least 05 cm.

Hearing

Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately. 

Dental

Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth and a minimum of 14 dental points.

SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION

Phase – I

Online Test (Objective type Questions):

(a) Science Subjects.  The total duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes and shall comprise of  Physics, Mathematics and English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.  

(b) Other than Science Subjects.  The total duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes and shall comprise English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

(c) Science Subjects & Other than Science Subjects.  The total duration of the online test shall be  

85 minutes and shall comprise Physics, Mathematics and English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

(d) Marking pattern for online test: –        

 (i) One mark for every correct answer. 

(ii) Nil (0) marks for unattempted questions.  

(iii) 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Phase – II

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) + Documentation + Adaptability Test:

Candidates who pass the online test will have to undertake a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), followed by a documentation and adaptability assessment.

Phase – III

Medical Examination:

The last step of the selection process includes a thorough medical check-up to assess the overall health and fitness of the candidates.

Required Documents:

1)   Class 10th /matriculation passing certificate.

2)   Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent marks sheet.
                                      OR
      3 Yrs Engineering Diploma Final Year Marks sheet
                                        OR
      2 Yrs Vocational Course marks sheets of non-vocational course.

3)   Higher education Qualification/Additional skill certificates, if any.

4)  Passport size recent colour photograph (taken not before June 2024) of size: 10 KB to 50 KB (front portrait in light background without facemask and head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with the candidate holding a black slate in front of his/her chest with his/her name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters. Change in appearance like growing beard, head gear etc., in comparison to the photograph, may result in cancellation of candidature for STAR online examination and Phase II.

5)  Candidate’s left-hand thumb impression image (Size: 10 KB to 50 KB).

6)  Candidate’s signature image (Size: 10 KB to 50 KB).

7)  Candidate’s parent’s (Father/Mother) / Guardian’s signature image 

(if a candidate is below 18 years old on the date of filling out the online application).

Note: 

 • Candidate must have his/her valid E-mail ID and Mobile No. for successful online registration.

 • Candidate should enter the AADHAAR number in the Online application. Candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam and Meghalaya are exempted from the same, if they do not having an AADHAAR card.
